ReliaPay Ltd Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Introduction

ReliaPay Ltd (“ReliaPay”, “we”, “us”) is committed to preventing slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking in all its forms, both within our own business and throughout our supply chains. This statement is made pursuant to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps we take to ensure that modern slavery has no place in our organisation or in the organisations we work with.

We have a zero tolerance approach to modern slavery. We act ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and we expect the same high standards from our clients, suppliers and business partners.

Our Business

ReliaPay is a UK based umbrella payroll company providing employment, payroll and invoice management services to contractors and recruitment agencies. Our registered office is at Office 10-11, Endeavour House, 3rd Floor, Coopers End Road, London Stansted Airport, Stansted, England, CM24 1SJ. Company number: 15420012.

As an employer of contractors working across a range of sectors, we recognise that we operate in an industry where workers can be vulnerable to exploitation. We take this responsibility seriously and have placed worker welfare at the centre of how we operate.

Our Commitment

We are committed to the following:

  • Ensuring that all workers we employ do so freely, with a genuine contract of employment, and are never subject to coercion, threats or deception.
Paying all workers correctly, on time and in full compliance with National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage legislation, with clear and transparent payslips.
  • Ensuring no worker is ever charged a fee for finding work or required to surrender identity documents as a condition of employment.
Ensuring workers have full and sole control of the bank account into which their wages are paid.
  • Complying with all applicable employment, tax and immigration legislation, including right to work checks carried out in line with Home Office guidance.
  • Providing all employees with a clear route to raise concerns confidentially and without fear of reprisal.

Our Policies

Our commitment to preventing modern slavery is supported by our wider internal policies, including the following:

  • Our recruitment and onboarding policy, which includes identity verification and right to work checks for every worker before their first payment.
  • Our whistleblowing policy, which enables employees and workers to report concerns about wrongdoing, including any suspicion of modern slavery, in confidence.
  • Our anti bribery and corruption policy, which ensures we conduct business ethically at all times.
  • Our grievance procedure, which provides workers with a clear mechanism to raise complaints about their treatment.
  • Our supplier code of conduct, which sets out the standards we expect of the businesses we work with.

Due Diligence

To identify and mitigate the risk of modern slavery in our business and supply chains, we take the following steps:

  • We verify the identity and right to work of every worker we employ, and remain alert to warning signs such as shared bank accounts, shared addresses used by multiple unrelated workers, third parties attending registrations, or workers who appear unable to speak for themselves.
  • We monitor payroll data for indicators of exploitation, such as multiple workers being paid into the same bank account.
  • We carry out appropriate checks on the recruitment agencies and end clients we contract with, and expect them to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and all applicable employment legislation.
  • We reserve the right to terminate our relationship with any agency, client or supplier that fails to meet our standards or is found to be involved in any form of labour exploitation.

Risk Assessment

We assess the risk of modern slavery across our operations on an ongoing basis. As an umbrella employer, we recognise that the highest risk areas for our business are the recruitment supply chain and the sectors in which our workers are engaged. We keep these risks under regular review and adapt our controls accordingly.

Training and Awareness

We ensure that staff responsible for onboarding, payroll and compliance receive training on modern slavery, including how to recognise the signs of forced labour and human trafficking and how to escalate concerns. Awareness of this policy forms part of the induction process for all new members of staff.

Reporting Concerns

Anyone who suspects that modern slavery may be occurring within our business or supply chain, whether an employee, worker, agency, client or member of the public, is encouraged to report it to us at sales@reliapay.co.uk or by calling 01279 927057. Reports will be treated confidentially and investigated promptly.

Concerns can also be reported to the Modern Slavery and Exploitation Helpline on 08000 121 700, or to the police by calling 999 where someone is in immediate danger.

Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect changes in our business, our supply chains and the law.
